| Combining a field research and photo-journalistic approach to the
topic, this poster session reports on the state of crime and law
enforcement in the small Central American nation of Belize. With
unprecedented access, the researcher conducted a two week observational
study of the crime problem and police function in Belize. This including
interviewing police supervisors and officers in urban and rural areas in
addition to observing the operations of the police training academy. In
addition, the researcher observed the functions of the courts and prison
system in Belize to add needed detail and substance to the study. This
poster session highlights and summarizes the major findings of this field
research project via text and images.
