The Stockholm Prize in Criminology

The Swedish Ministry of Justice has announced that it will award an annual, international prize in criminology in the amount of at least 1 million Swedish Kroner (approximately $150,000), for research or research applications that help to reduce human misery and increase human rights.  The full details of the Prize are now posted at www.criminologyprize.com .

Any criminology society, department or institution may nominate one person, or team of persons, in any given year.  The first prize will be awarded in Stockholm City Hall, in the same room as the Nobel Prize banquet, on June 16, 2006.
