NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR 2009
GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS FOR ETHNIC MINORITIES
(Application Deadline: March 1)
Eligibility: The fellowships are designed to encourage African American, Asian American, Latino, and Native American students to enter the field of criminology and criminal justice. Applicants need not be members of the American Society of Criminology. Individuals studying criminology or criminal justice issues are encouraged to apply. The recipients of the fellowships must be accepted into a program of doctoral studies. Generally three (3), $6,000 fellowships are awarded each year.
Application Procedures: A complete application package must be received no later than March 1, 2009. A complete application must contain (1) up-to-date curriculum vita; (2) indication of race or ethnicity; (3) copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts; (4) statement of need and prospects for financial assistance for graduate study; (5) a letter describing career plans, salient experiences, and nature of interest in criminology and criminal justice; and (6) three letters of reference.
The Society reserves the right not to award the fellowships in
a given year.
