Francis T. Cullen
Distinguished Research Professor
Professor Cullen received his PhD in sociology and education from Columbia
University in 1979. He is past editor of Justice Quarterly and Journal
of Crime and Justice, and was president of the Academy of Criminal Justice
Sciences. He is a fellow of both the ACJS and the American Society of Criminology.
He is author of Rethinking Crime and Deviance Theory and is co-author of
Reaffirming Rehabilitation, Corporate Crime Under Attack: The Ford Pinto
Case and Beyond, Criminological Theory: Context and Consequences, Criminology,
and Combating Corporate Crime: Local Prosecutors at Work. He is co-editor
of Contemporary Criminological Theory, Offender Rehabilitation: Effective
Correctional Intervention, and Criminological Theory: Past to Present -
Essential Readings. He teaches theory and philosophy of corrections, structural
theories of crime, early intervention in criminal justice, and criminal
