POLICIES AND PROCEDURES MANUAL
The American Society of Criminology policies and operations are impacted by four governing documents:
Constitution - Changes must first be approved by a majority of the Executive Board, or alternatively, by five (5) percent of the members of the Society, and then must be affirmed by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of those members who cast a ballot in the subsequent ratification/election process.
By-Laws - Requires a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Executive Board in each of two (2) consecutive Board Meetings. There are typically three (3) Board Meetings held each year; late April, the Tuesday before the Annual Meeting, and the Saturday of the Annual Meeting.
Policies - Requires a majority vote of the Executive Board.
Practices - Operational procedures and practices of the Society officers and staff.
